I felt like there was pressure on my chest, like somebody might be sitting on my chest... but no, no real pain. I came home, I saw my daughter, she said to me, uh, “I don’t think you’re okay... uh, you know, that could be the first sign of a heart attack.” And I of course said, “That’s ridiculous—I’ve been to the gym, I’m in good health.” She said, “Let’s call 911”. I said, “I don’t know about that.” I finally relented, uh, we called 911 in a couple of minutes, um, and they showed up at the house. First question out of the paramedic’s mouth was, “Have you had an aspirin today?” Um, I, I said, “No.”—he handed me an aspirin. They rolled me into the emergency room…cardiologist came down, looked at me, looked at my EKG... and rolled me into a cath lab where they put in, uh, 2 stents. He said to me, “You’re a very lucky guy today—you just beat the widow-maker. “About half the people who get what you just had don’t make it to the hospital—and most of the remaining half don’t get here in time for us to save them.” I was put on a regimen of aspirin. I keep a bottle in my brief case and various places in the house. I think I pay much more attention to my personal relationships, my friends and what their needs are now more than ever before and I am cognizant of the fact that I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my daughter. Go see your doctor now. You can change your future by making sure you do all the right things to take care of your heart. I’m David Forbes and I’m ProHeart.
