Jane J.

Three years ago I was ill with what I thought was joint pain from lupus. I was sent to the ER by an RN I worked with and found out I had a heart attack. Unfortunately, I went into a coma and also suffered from an e-coli infection. I was unconscious for approximately two months. I recovered for another month at a nearby rehab facility and received home health care from a wonderful agency. I decided that living was better than working so I retired from my fulltime job. Needless to say I quit smoking and currently am working out daily at a gym. I keep a journal of all my appointments and an updated listing of all my meds. My life is great - my obligations are only to my friends and family; I volunteer at different places to give back to the community and am very thankful to my family most of all and all my physicians and caregivers for helping me be able to walk and talk (sometimes too much) and be healthy. Life IS good!
